The surroundings of Epernay

World famous for its Champagne, the Marne ... an authentic and endearing region which has many surprises in store for you.

Champagne is first of all its tourist route to discover the most precious of wines ...

From Reims, capital of the kings of France, a visit to its cathedral, its basilica and the palace of Tau is essential before joining the 50,000-hectare Reims mountain Regional Natural Park, dotted with forests, vines and villages of character including Verzy, famous for its “faux” legendary trees with strange shapes. A little further on, the pretty Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers abbey in its green setting and 30 minutes away, Verneuil and the superb Boursault castle, a Renaissance jewel. As you climb, you can admire the magnificent panorama of the valley from the charming flowered village of Champillon, backed by the forest and overlooking the vineyard. Epernay is profiled ... Capital of Champagne known for its famous avenue called "Champs Elysées du Champagne", prestigious address, cradle of big houses such as Moët & Chandon, Pol Roger, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier ... As you travel this avenue with its remarkable architecture (small castles, mansions...), beneath your feet a treasure is dormant ... no less than 110 km of galleries dug to house millions of bottles of the famous nectar! A not to be missed visit!

From Epernay to Vertus, the Côte des Blancs ... the cradle of Chardonnay reveals charming villages such as Chouilly, Pierry and its 18th century castle, Avize, or Cramant.

Champagne, a sparkling destination to discover between vineyards, cellars, forests, lakes and villages of character ... on foot, by car as well as by bike thanks to a whole network of routes and circuits (all levels) proposed by the tourist Office.

Do not hesitate to ask us, we will be happy to advise you in the discovery of our beautiful region.
